Are Jews going to heaven?

Hey guys!
I’ve read in the Catechism about how their is no faith outside the Catholic Church… But I get from it that we beleive people who know Christ will have the chance to attain salvation as well. I hope I am reading it right?? But what about Jewish people??

Hi Kristan, all those who love and serve God, their Creator, and sincerely repent for their sins, have the possibility of salvation. If they don’t know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and their only Savior, or that His Church is the Catholic Church, “through no fault of their own”, then they can be saved. But obviously, these are things that we can’t know, and so we are called to preach and live the Gospel, and tell the world the truth: the Catholic Church is the Body of Christ, the only Ark of Salvation for all people. We can find answers in the Bible too. Rm. 9-11 speaks to your question. In Ch. 9 St. Paul seems to dispair concerning the salvation of his brethren. He ever wishes that he himself would be accursed from Christ if they could be saved, v.3. In v.8 he explains that they are the children of the flesh and not the children of God. Christians are the children of God thru the seed of Isaac. But by v. 16 he is putting his trust in the mercy of God. God will be perfectly just and righteous. In ch.10 he prays that Israel might be saved,but they must be saved accourding to knowledge (as we all must). In ch. 11 he says that God has in no way cast away His people.

The truth of this is most evident today. A great many Jews are finding Christ due to God’s mercy. In Ch. 10:19 it is our job to provoke the Jew to jealousy. Why would God have said this (thru Moses) if it were not His plan to save His people?

But in America there is a chance to know about Jesus, and the Catholic Church as well. This is something I do not understand, as anyone who does not believe in Jesus in America somewhat chose not to believe this, am I correct?

So what do you believe about Jews who do not know Jesus is the messiah? Ones who know Christians, yet do not decide to be one themselves?

“No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” (Luke 10:22)

You see, it is impossible to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and in His Catholic Church without supernatural grace. This is the mystery of God’s plan for salvation, but it is not wise to speculate about these things, at least not in public. Just know that God’s justice is perfect, and so those who do not know the truth, “through no fault of their own”, will be judged by the law that God has written on their heart - what God has revealed to them. Some no doubt will be saved and some no doubt, won’t, just like everybody else, including Catholics… It is an individual thing and cannot be broken down into a group dynamic. That being said, it is certainly far more likely that Catholics have a much better shot at than do non Catholics, even though I have no doubt that many Catholics have had a hard time in purgatory and more than a few have indeed lost their salvation.
