I was unaware that our parish had changed the Mass times for the last Sunday of Advent. I arrived just as the Host was being distributed. I felt uncomfortable going forward to receive since I had missed the majority of the Mass, so I abstained.
Would it have been ok to have gone forward to receive the Eucharist anyway or did I do the right thing? (Someone told me after Mass that the priest had said that there would probably be some latecomers due to the schedule change and that they were allowing a special dispensation for those people to go ahead and receive the Eucharist but I didn’t know that at the time.)
