gazelam, How do the Mormons explain the conception of John the Baptist, just curious?
What is the issue? That Elizabeth was past her child bearing years? Similar to Abraham and Sarah? If I recall the issue correctly I suppose the LDS church would teach that it was a miracle.

It’s impossible to have a coherent conversation if you can’t even understand the most basic precepts of discourse.

kimg901 quoted Bruce McConkie to refute your claim that LDS do not believe Jesus was conceived through sexual relations.

kimg901 quoted LDS sources to refute your claims. Your religion. Your claim. Your religious sources proving you wrong.

Seems clear to me.

And LDS author’s beliefs have absolutely no bearing on Catholic teaching.

And if you cannot understand this, there is no point in trying to have any sort of conversation.

My 13 year old has a better concept of reasoning, relevant sources, and how to apply those sources. 🤷
Isn’t it odd to you that kimg901 conveniently overlooked Elder McConkie’s statement on page 822 of Mormon Doctrine that states “Modernistic teachings denying the virgin birth are utterly and completely apostate and false” kimg901 has been commenting on LDS topics for years on this forum and knows better.

Yes, I would say it was a miraculous intervention too, by God. But the real question is, did Zechariah himself cause Elizabeth to conceive, or did the Holy Spirit come upon her also, as in Mary?

Perhaps we are in agreement! I think God could make Mary conceive 1000 different ways other than coming down and actually laying with her. Take care.
This is all you have to say about my post #34?

McConkie was obviously a very confused individual. Even the rest of his quorum eventually withdrew support of his “Mormon Doctrine” as being ‘undoctrinal’! Contradictory teachings have been common in the history of Mormonism. A person has to gauge which way the wind is blowing before expressing favor towards any particular controversial doctrine. In addition, in Mormon writings, many terms are ambiguous and jello-y. “Virgin birth” is one.

they shall be as the angels. i guess the LDS think angels are married?
