Well first of all you need to make the big leap that people who are being married can actually concentrate on the words of the vow. Then, if their brains are working (mine didn’t the day I married), they need to be able to draw the fine distinction. And forsaking all others is as vague. The full words are
__________, will you have this woman to be your wife; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?
