The quote from the Catechism you give is followed by the words: “this affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church” (no. 847). I presume that you have taken this quote from someone who decided not to give the whole passage. But as it stands, leaving out as it does the Catechism’s statement that non-Catholics can be saved, this is not a belief of the Catholic faith, but another sort of belief.
