God created us - he’s gotta have a sense of humour just for doing that right there.
Anyone who’s seen the platypus knows God has a sense of humor.

Either that or he sneezed and burped at the same time.

Oh please not a Pope Lando II - everyone would start calling the Vatican “Cloud City” and referring to the pope-mobile as the Millenium Falcon.
DH and I laughed at this one… yes, we are sci fi freaks… but even funnier is that our pastor’s homily today was about how God always manifested himself in clouds… Moses walking up the mountain into the clouds, the Exodus from Egypt being led by clouds, God talking after the baptism of Jesus from a cloud, the transfiguration clouds, Jesus ascending… and how clouds are powerful because we can see them but we can’t harness them (i.e. put them in a box, grab a handful, etc)… That made Cloud City a bigger reality and totally hilarious!!! Imagine it… Cloud City… surrounded by the cloud as Moses was when he went to talk to God…powerful image!

It seems we’ve gotten in a bit of a rut the last 300 years or so. The next pope should mix things up and pick some papal name that no one has used for a while, like Lando II or Conon II 😃
We haven’t been in too much of a rut. I remember when John Paul I was elected. it was a big deal that he select a unique name (no number required!).

I’ll make a prediction: The next time in history that a pope chooses the name Andrew the Eastern Orthodox wil reunite with the Catholic Church.

I’ve often wondered why some of the diciples names haven’t been used.

Now of course all the disicples aren’t perfect but I could see a Pope elected from india taking the name of Thomas or one from Ireland taking the name of Patrick.

How about one from Ethiopia taking the name of Philip?

Some say that the last pope before Jesus returns will take the name of Peter.
