So says a priest and my mother. They say that since these people live a contemplative life and have offered their life for prayer and sacrifice, their prayers are more powerful and are answered. Is this true?
God is sensitive to love. If the soul loves Him much, He will favour it in remarkable ways, be it a secular or religious. One day, the Heavenly Powers (choir of angels) said the following to St. Gertrude: **“For the prayers of one loving soul prevail more with God, both for the living and the dead, than the prayers of a thousand souls who love less.” **
“My children, we cannot comprehend the power that a pure soul has over the good God.”
