I try to avoid them myself as I find them to be unclassy, but is telling a sex joke a sin? Is laughing at one a sin, if you could’ve instead repudiated the ill behavior of the person telling it?
Ephel I believe its a sin to crack so-called “green” jokes. I really don’t know but we may not be forewarned all the time whether a friend cracks a green joke. maybe if we know persons with a penchant of doing this then we can politely tell them to refrain from doing so. There are a lot of other ways to share a laugh but I think green jokes should be a thing of the past. just my humble opinion.
Sexuality is a part of life – why not joke about it? I don’t think every sex joke is a sin. But I think if it completely debases sex and its dignity that’s another thing. Jokes that depict crass references to bodily fluids seem beneath us. But I don’t think all sex jokes are necessarily sinful–in fact, some probably are not sinful at all. I could think of a couple to post, but some people are pretty sensitive on these boards.
