Why are all the meat-eaters continuing to make a big deal out of this and mock the vegetarian lifestyle?
Fine- you don’t do it. You like meat. You don’t agree with vegetarianism. Whatever. Move on.

No, it is not morally wrong. It is a self-choice that can be beneficial to those who adopt it. End of story.

I agree, though I don’t really give a rip what anybody thinks of my eating habits. I have done my research, am still learning about vegan living / eating, and I know that not only can one be a healthy vegn, but one can thrive.

It is curious that whenever the topic of veg*nism is brought up, people get so argumentative and hostile. I wonder why that is. Hmmm…

Whatever the moral implications or individual interpretations / biases are, it’s between me and my god. Period. Thankyouverymuch.

Atkins & others go into the idea of the food industry & how they want to propogate certain beliefs about health so as to …
surprise surprise… Make $$$$$!

hmmm… i wonder who else could be doing that ?

Suit yourself.
I haven’t denied that meat eating can be healthy. Read my posts again, if you don’t believe me. Or did you read them to begin with? And I would like to remind you that it wasn’t vegetarians that started this “holier-than-thou” thread. Sandi’s thread that you said “amen” to is an example of meat eaters making assumptions about all vegetarians. Which is an arrogant thing to do.

Amen!

There are a few things that really rile people here…vegetarians/ vegans and Starbucks.
Personally, I think it’s kinda funny.

Respectfully, there is scientific evidence that supports Atkins findings and specifically the plan outlined in Atkins for Life is quite healthy.

This thread started with the false supposition that it is not moral to be a vegetarian because it is somehow saying what God made is not good. This is just not true.

Vegetarians can be very healthy. So can meat eaters. And many who use Atkins properly, can literally say that Atkins saved their lives, but some who became vegetarians can say the same about vegetarianism saving theirs.
Fine. Then I say we drop it and agree to disagree. Frankly, this is becoming nothing more than overly dramatic argument that is going nowhere.

I find it ironic that you responded to what is quoted up above in red.

By “agreeing to disagree” you believe it is immoral to be a vegetarian?

I assume you either did not actually read my post, or mean to “agree to disagree” on whether or not Atkins for Life is healthy even though that was not part of the post that you quoted?

But what I do see here are people on both sides of this issue who completely choose to ignore science and make ridiculous claims like “meat eaters are less healthy” or “vegetarians don’t live as long”. A person can be healthy in either lifestyle choice, as well as be unhealthy.

But I guess this is what happens when a thread starts with someone that questions the morality of vegetarians.

It is like questioning the morality of a person who doesn’t eat brussel sprouts. Since a person doesn’t eat brussel sprouts, they are intrinsically claiming all that God made is not good.

And that is completely ridiculous.

Maria, I read your post. I intended “agree to disagree” to be a general statement. Instead of one side trying to “convert” the other, we all need to mellow out. All of us.

Maybe we can get together over a cup of Starbucks??
Jessica, can you whip up some vegan cookies??
Kathy

I would agree with that.

As of yet, I still see both sides making ridiculous and spurious claims and falling farther and farther away from the supposed topic of the thread.
