in Luke 9:6. They were preaching the gospel of the kingdom; the same gospel John and the Baptist, our Lord Jesus Christ preached during His earthly ministry. QC

Preaching the Kingdom, would have been the most natural place to start, in order to reveal the messiah. The Apostles were still being taught the gospel, yet they would have known about the kingdom already. At that time most, if not all, Jews were expecting the messiah to come and set up a kingdom. It would have been ridiculous to preach the DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION, before it took place, wouldn’t it?

The SAME gospel as 1Cor15:1-4 was preached by Peter at Pentecost after the Holy Spirit came on them.

[Acts2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; **Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have CRUCIFIED and SLAIN: 24 Whom God hath RAISED up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.]

Crucified, died and raised same as 1Cor15:1-4.

[Acts2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, WHAT SHALL WE DO? 38 Then PETER SAID unto them, REPENT, and BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the REMISSION OF SINS, and ye shall RECEIVE the gift of the HOLY GHOST. 39 For THE PROMISE IS UNTO you, AND to YOUR CHILDREN, and to all that are afar off, even **AS MANY AS THE LORD OUR GOD SHALL CALL.
Peter found some things “hard to understand” in Paul’s epistles - 2 Peter 3:16.
JL: [2Pt3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved **BROTHER Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in GRACE, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.]

First note, Peter didn’t say, he didn’t understand. He said some things are HARD to understand, WHICH the UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE wrest, AS THEY DO OTHER SCRIPTURES. Verse17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing YE KNOW THESE THINGS BEFORE, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Why should Peter even be concerned, if he was preaching a DIFFERENT gospel, to Jews ONLY? Why would those, who Peter is addressing, even need to understand that DIFFERENT, unknown gospel therefore irrelevant to them?

If there are two DIFFERENT gospels, one preached by the twelve, the other preached by Paul. Why would Paul be writing to the SAME people, to which Peter is writing? Wouldn’t that cause confusion for those people, as to which gospel they are to follow? Answer, they were preaching the ONE, and SAME, gospel.

[Gal 1:21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; 22 **And was unknown by face unto the CHURCHES OF JUDAEA which were in Christ: 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past NOW PREACHETH THE FAITH which ONCE HE DESTROYED.] Clearly Paul taught the SAME gospel because Paul preached the SAME FAITH, as he once tried to destroy. If Paul’s gospel was DIFFERENT. He couldn’t have been preaching the SAME FAITH, he had tried to destroyed, could he?

jlhargus, I say this so that you become more effective in apologetics and bringing the Gospel to the world:

Just about everybody under the age of 30 has grown with with the convention that putting things in all-capital letter is the written form of ‘shouting’ - when someone who is used to this convention reads words like this, in their mind, they ‘hear’ shouting.

When they see a page of this - I’m almost certain that immediately stop reading and skip over it.

Thus, they lose the benefit of your wisdom.

Just my, $.02, and I wish you well in your apologetics in the name of Jesus.
