Are there any Catholic theology mp3s out there?

Hello,

A few years ago I became a Christian by way of the Reformed (Presbyterian) tradition. One thing I like about the Reformed tradition is how intellectually satisfying it is. There are tons of mp3 lectures from that tradition available on the internet. I’ve downloaded 2,500 onto my computer and have been listening to one a night for the past year or so. Reformed Theological Seminary and Covenant Seminary (both Reformed) have hundreds and hundreds of lectures from their classes available for free. Sermonaudio.com has thousands and all the pastors there are Reformed… and there are many other websites.

Anyway, I’m interested in Catholicism and would like to know if the Catholics have any resources like this? I’ve searched the internet but can’t seem to find any “serious” mp3s. They’re all just homilies or chatty, obnoxious radio-style mp3s. (Except for Peter Kreeft’s and Fulton Sheen’s that I’ve found).

Does anyone here know of any mp3 lectures from a Catholic seminary or something? I really can’t find any and would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Try anything by Dr. John Rao. He’s into church history, philosophy, etc… Unfortunately, they aren’t for free, but at $1.00 per mp3, it’s not outrageous either.

Oh yeah, I just remembered, here’s another one with free mp3’s that goes systematically through the Faith ( proecclesia.com/page_free%20talks.htm ). I might hold off on the talks on Fatima…for two reasons. 1) Marian devotion stuff is usually the last thing that a Protestant enquirer tackles with Catholicism, and 2) nothing “revealed” at Fatima by Mary is new to the faith or necessary for salvation (IOW, you are free to write it off because the Church never requires believers to believe in these types of things. They just say that, based on their examination of the “messages”, nothing is said that contradicts the Faith).

Fr John Corapi’s series on the Catechism is brilliant - long but interesting and a really good overview of the Catholic faith (since the Catechism is probably the most comprehensive summary of Catholic teaching).

You can find it here

It’s a series that is continually rebroadcast on EWTN, so it would seem to be public domain and OK to download.

Otherwise try EWTN’s audio library here. Just type in search terms to find programs that may interest you. These are mostly Real Audio files, so you may need a program that’ll convert them to mp3s for you.

I can link you to some free software that’ll do the job if need be.
