Hi!

Are there any traditional Latin Masses in Idaho?
If so, what part of Idaho, what are the name of the Churches, parishes?
I read somewhere that there was a seminary in Northern Idaho?
Is it safe to say that if you have a seminary in an area,
you might see more traditonal parishes around?
Do you know if its an active, involved community?
Thank you,

Peace!🙂

These are the SSPX ones in Idaho. Hope this helps.

There is also an FSSP Chapel in Coeur d’alene. The priest is Fr. Chad Ripperger, who is quite well respected in Traditional circles.

Thank you so much for the link & info!👍
I checked out their website & noticed that there is a future Chapel
being built. Does this mean that the Church in CDA itself will stop
its traditional Latin Mass, once the new Chapel in P.F. is finished?
Do you know what is going to happen?
What will happen to the Church in CDA itself?
And do you know when this is taking place?
Thank you,
Peace!🙂

I’m not sure what will happen in Cd’A once the P.F. chapel is built. However, it looks to me like the P.F. project is a long-term goal, and they will be in their current chapel (which I have heard is actually a former Protestant church building) for a while. I see on their website and bulletin that they are asking for donations for additional items to celebrate the TLM, so it looks like they are still getting situated. I know for a fact that the main thing they need is kneelers.

I, for one, hope that, once the new chapel is built in Post Falls, they hold a Coeur d’Alene TLM at St. Thomas - a beautiful gothic church fitting such an impressive Mass.

Thank you so much for your answer!
I am asking because I am thinking of moving to the area, and I would love to be within walking distance of the Church, in case of bad weather, so I can attend daily Mass.🙂
I also love beautiful gothic, old Churches!
What does Saint Thomas have right now? What type of Mass?
Is the Saint Thomas Church close to the Chapel in CDA where they are now?
How far is the new location of the P.F. Church being built from CDA? Can you walk from the CDA area?
Thank you!
Peace!🙂

St. Thomas only offers the Ordinary Form, but St. Joan’s is only a couple of blocks away (almost literally in the shadow of the spire of St. Thomas). I am not sure, exactly, where in Post Falls they want to put the new chapel, but Post Falls is about 10 miles away from Coeur d’Alene, so that would not really be within walking distance.

St. Joan’s and St. Thomas are both in a fairly nice residential area of Coeur d’Alene, though I believe real estate there is still somewhat pricey…

Interestingly, from what I have read, the post-Vatican II TLM in Coeur d’Alene actually started at St. Thomas - one of the Redemptorist priests there at the time continued to say the TLM every day, despite the promulgation of the N.O., until he was transferred, and Father George Rassley, C.Ss.R., former pastor of St. Thomas, was instrumental in getting the TLM indult in the area, well prior to the Motu Proprio.

Hi,

Thank you for your post!
Its interesting information:) I hope they do have a TLM in the Saint Thomas Church.
Do you know if the new Church that they are building in PF will have a traditional
look to it?
Peace:)

Just came across this old thread and realized I didn’t answer the last post…

I’m not sure, exactly, what the new church in PF will look like - there is a drawing on the web site, but it is not very large or easy to see. I’m sure, though, it will have a pretty traditional look, just from what I saw of the nature of the congregation and Fr. Ripperger.
