Maybe you should ask your own church this question since all the info that I provided is by a credible Catholic clergy and heirarch. Is the word “legalism” relevant here?![]()
Than How come the Pope/Rome didn’t recognize it, as a matter of fact there was no words from Rome at all whatsoever about it, not even when the Pope came to Damascus.Code:... Stigmata is generally known as a "Catholic" miracle, often **derided** by EO. God permitted Myrna to experience this Grace. (emphasis are mine)
Besides do you know if there was an official declaration from the Melkite Patriarchate concerning the Stigmata?
No, according to heirarch declarations of your church.Code:Myrna may be Orthodox according to the letter,...
And in what authority do you allow yourself to speak on her spirit?Code:... but according to the Spirit, she seems to be BOTH Orthodox AND Catholic (an Orthodox in communion with Rome at heart :)).
Now you are trying to take this to a whole different ball game, in which I am not going to get into in respect to this Miracle, to Myrna and her family and also to our truly Brothers and Sisters in the Melkite Catholic Church, I think I have gave forth an indisputable evidence regarding this matter. if the all this didn’t get you convinced, there is nothing that I or your own church can do more to get you to understand…
Blessings
Again I am still amazed that you can call yourself A Melkite practicing, but yet you do not demonstrate any knowledge of the Melkites,Ignatios: In addition to Mardukm’s point, there’s also the fact that Myrna’s spiritual advisors are Catholic:
soufanieh.com/ENGLISH/eeguides.htm
having a spiritual advisor from different Church does not denotes that you belong to the Church of the advisor, at least in the Middle East,
Nicolas her husband, his advisor is a Melkite Catholic also and his advisor told him to obey the Church heirarch and not to do anything without their knowledge in this matter,
MY OWN spiritual advisor when I was in Lebanon was Maronite, and he helped me to get back in track with my own Church in many times, another friend of mine he was a Maronite, his spiritual advisors if you will were bunch of Monks from an Orthodox convent, he was and still Maronite as any Maronite can ever be and likewise I am still an Orthodox as any Orthodox can ever be.
Forgive me, But how can you not know all this if you call yourself …well. a Melkite, especially that you mentioned( in other threads few times) that you have some Orthodox in your Melkite Church and they still consider themselves Orthodox???
UUUHHH !!!.. ok …loooool… one more time …IN the middle east if you are married in the Catholic Church you become Catholic if you are Married in the Orthodox Church you become Orthodox if you are Married to a Muslim you become Muslim, your records gets transfered to that jurisdiction that you got married in, and when you die the same church you got married in it bury you, and you be in their record.Code:Her family is indeed Orthodox, but that doesn't mean Myrna switched jurisdictions. All you've shown is that, by custom, the family as a whole is considered an Orthodox family; you've shown nothing to demonstrate that Myrna is no longer Catholic.
Just as I demonstrated for you from your own Church in almost all of my posting by a credible Catholic references to include the heirarchs of your own Church, sheesh.
Let me stress the words of your own fellow catholics Fr. Fox ( RC) and the words of your own church the Melkite Catholic and please meditate on it for a few seconds at least before you answer:
"… we must understand
this caution in light of the Eastern mentality and their position that they
consider the Nazzours to be an Orthodox family, based on the father’s
religion.
Thank you, thank you thank you …If your words were like the ones above in the beginning instead of what you have said in Post #3 >>>> “Our Lady of Damascus is a Melkite miraculous icon:” I would have applaud you.Code:That being said, these are miracles that our Churches **share**,
loooooooooooooooooool … forgive me …but …isn’t that what I Have told you in the beginning in Post # 7 >>> " I would have loved to read about the message that this miraculous icon has brought(which is UNITY), rather than knowing what Church it came out of." forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=5621125&postcount=7Peace and God bless!Code:...so argument over her status is absurd. The whole point of the Soufanieh message is reunion between our Churches.
And now you went around a big circle to come back to what I have said to you in the beginning, BUT it doesn’t matter, I am glad that you came around, and I was wrong I never thought that you would.
GOD Bless you all †††
