The news is simply filled with anti-Catholic stories and problems across our culture…from abortion to colleges allowing speakers that should not be allowed into a Catholic institutions…it seems the flood of problems is quite overwhelming…

Do we have enough laborers for the task at hand? If not, how can we get more?

Jesus started with only 12 “average” men.

My husband and I have been noticing a huge increase in the number of laborers over the last few years. Last Saturday, we had a line of folks waiting for reconciliation for over an hour after Mass – I don’t know how any were there in the scheduled pre-mass time-slot.

Several people also spent at least an hour in the Adoration Chapel Saturday Night. There is one teenage boy there frequently. I pray frequently that for him to become a priest, if it is God’s will. (And if it isn’t that he will somehow become acquainted with my teenage daughter 😉 )

I don’t know … I seem to say that a lot lately. The best I can offer is that I think the answer is twofold: we need to do what we can with as much love as we can muster, and we need to pray constantly. I’m probably naive and simplistic, but I have faith that God will take care of His church and help us as long as we try to do His will.
