Are there spiritual protections by being a Catholic?

Hi everyone!
Would you say that there are spiritual protections by being a member of the Holy Roman Catholic church?
And if so, what are they?

What do you mean by ‘protections’?

The Church is protected from error and heresy.
We are protected from the Evil One through the merits and intercession of the Communion of Saints.
Holy Communion protects and strengthens us from falling into sin.

etc. etc. etc.

I think they mean that because the Godfather / Corleone family is Catholic, then do we all benefit from the ‘protection’ services of the mob?

Well you don’t have to fear them but pay up on time or you wake up with a horses head in your bed. Just to be clear, the mob can’t give all Catholics protection, but you do get 10% off when you show them your confirmation certificate.

Yes, there are protections, both “default” and available.

A Catholic, when baptized (ordinarily) undergoes a minor exorcism, warding off Satan and his demons from the baptized soul and claiming her for Christ.

Further, the baptized person is assigned a guardian angel and patron saint.

With the “available” protections, we have sacraments and sacramentals. The Eucharist strengthens us in the spiritual life against temptations. Confession gives the graces to repent from sin and avoid it. Sacramentals such as holy water and the St. Benedict medal carry exorcisms that are weapons against evil spirits.
 
I guess you have never spoken with clergy who work in Mafia towns.

We continually ask for Our Lords protection in The Lords Prayer.

We ask for our daily bread, to be forgiven our sins , not to be tempted. , and to be delivered from evil.
