A child dies every three seconds from AIDS and extreme poverty, often before their fifth birthday.
More than one billion people do not have access to clean water.
Every year six million children die from malnutrition before their fifth birthday.
More than 50 percent of Africans suffer from water-related diseases such as cholera and infant diarrhea.
More than 800 million people go to bed hungry every day, 300 million are children.
Of these 300 million children, only eight percent are victims of famine or other emergency situations. More than 90 percent are suffering long-term malnourishment and micronutrient deficiency.

We are living with the consequences of Original Sin. Hell is worse than this. Heaven is the way things should be.

We’re living on earth. If this was Heaven, you’d understand the point of human suffering, and your joy would drown out the sorrow. If it were Hell…you’d think it was funny.

we are on earth, where we have the choice of being passive witnesses to the sufferings of others, or the means of relieving suffering, or of suffering in solidarity with others.

We are not in Heaven or hell, we are in the Valley of Tears.
We are in the Church Militant.

We must remember Christ’s words:

Matthew 26:11
For the poor you have always with you: but me you have not always.

John 12:8
For the poor you have always with you; but me you have not always.

Mark 14:7
7 For the poor you have always with you: and whensoever you will, you may do them good: but me you have not always.

We are, however, REQUIRED to “share” our wealth, absolutely.

Luke 12:48
48 But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more.

I learned this as a child:

Matthew 19:24
And again I say to you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 10:25
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:25
For it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

What is the point of this thread? Is there realy any doubt about where we are?Are we really shocked to see evil in the world? What are we willing to do to change our world?

Well, … it sure ain’t heaven.

… although the coffee’s pretty good.

I believe personally that there have been enough sacrifices spiritually to cover the sins of many and that the world is now entering into its own purgatory. That of course would mean that the end result for those of us still here is that we are destined for heaven because I don’t see anyone committing such atrocious sins as to warrant hell. But I could be wrong? After all, who are responsible for those who are dying?

SPIRITUAL PRIDE -Mother Angelica

We don’t like to speak the truth about evil because we’re going to hurt somebody. Let me tell you, you are going to hurt somebody, but that Somebody is God. If you would rather hurt God than your neighbor, there is something wrong with your spirituality. It’s your obligation to speak the truth and everyone can either take it or leave it. But truth must be in us. We live in such poverty of the truth today.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen:

When the record of any human life is set down, there are three pairs of eyes who see it in a different light.
There is the life:
1). As I see it.
2). As others see it.
3). As God sees it.

Thanks all for your answers! I really appreciate it ! stay blessed!

The picture itself could tell us we are living in exile where innocent people and the devil are all there.

The child represents the children of God and the bird is the devil which cannot wait to take away his soul.

im unsure if this is heaven or hell
I once cheekily asked our school preist, in an RE lesson ‘‘father whats the difference between heaven and hell’’?

He smiled at me and replied, ‘’ imagine you have arms that are six feet long. Eating would be quite a task wouldn’t it’’?

I replied ‘‘Yes it would father’’

He then replied ‘‘Well the difference between heaven and hell is, In Hell they are all starving because they try to feed themselves and never suceed. In Heaven we will sit 6 feet away and feed each other’’

as a child made thing very clear. But growing up and seeing things like this, Thing that shouldn’t be happening. was there a deeper meaning to what the priest told me.
It so hard to tell.

Neither, we are living on earth. There is human suffering on earth and we are required to give to/help the suffering.
