Are we living the last days? Before Jesus returns?

The early Christians expected Jesus to return in their days also…and such has been the case since then where many predicted that Jesus would return in their lifetime…earthquakes…famines…wars…have happened throughout history…Jesus warned against false prophets…he also said that his word would be preached throughout the whole world before the end…billions of people have never heard the gospel even today…the Bible says that a day is like a thousand years to God…and a thousand years like a day…while Jesus said we should be aware of events leading to the end times he also said that God alone knows when that will be… as for the present day State of Israel which some Christians say proves that the end is near…Orthodox Jews don’t believe it is the true State of Israel.

I don’t think anybody can say for sure.

But it’s still better not to be too hopeful.

The only thing we should do is obey Christ who told us to always be ready.
Many people seem to spend great parts of their daily life agonising over the end of days. This will make them miserable. Its a complete waste of time when it could be spent by living life as Christ wants us to do.

Are we living in “the last days”? We can’t know for sure.

But Jesus hasn’t returned yet, so we definitely are living in the days before his return. Glad we have that part settled! 🙂

I have never agonized over that, as nothing would happen to me as a result of it, beyond what would happen to me anyway (bodily death).

Sorry I wan’t referring to you. I meant people who do spend lots of time thinking about it like the OP who has opened dozens of threads on exactly the same topic.

I don’t think God will be the harbinger of the end of times but it will be bumpy our own doing.

The nuclear age has definitely made the end of
Times incredibly possible.

But as far as the perception of the Godpel of Jon, I think it is dangerous to assume that no. Speaks of the last days in revelations.

Only God knows when the end of times will be.

Our focus should be on saving our own souls and others.

in the sense that Jesus returns to judge each of us on the day of our death, then, yes we are all living in the last days because our physical bodies are mortal and will die.

in the sense of is the end of human life on the planet earth imminent, well, that would depend on how you define imminent. scientifically it seems that humanity’s existence on earth could yet go on for a very long time. how long? all guesses are welcome and none are certain.

Well one important thing Jesus mentioned…he said the time he returned, it would be a time when no one was expecting his return, I think this little hint goes overlooked much of the time, I mean, think about it…a time when no one is expecting the end? It seems like all thru history there has never been a time like this and I really cannot ever see a time like that in the future, there will always be one or two claiming the next date, so how can Jesus statement be accurate?

Will no one be expecting it because it will not line up with scripture and what the bible says will happen, or will the times not be anything like they were described?

Will the church also not be expecting the return when it happens?

We are living in the last days. Of course, the last days period pretty much started at the Ascension. As to it being the last days of the last days, we can’t know. It’s important not to fret about looking for signs. Be ready.
