Are you looking forward to the release of "Mary Poppins Returns"?

I want to see it! I’m more curious than anything. I don’t think it can top the original.

It’s precisely because I’m skeptical about its ability top the original that I’m not in a rush to see it. 😐

Cue Highlander. The second film was… 😒 * shudder *

Most of the time, there truly can be only one.

Given the differences in the mindset of Hollywood now vs then, and that of society in general, I will wait for some reviews first.

I would hate to see something ruined.

I think it might actually be good. You should all see it*.

Sigh, my first attempt at this I forgot that a certain actor’s name is verboten by the System software (see my post in Site Feedback)

Let’s try this again.

I was going to say No, I wasn’t looking forward to it at all, but I just watched the trailer and Duck van Dirk aka Richard van Netherlands-Levee aka Rob Petrie is in it, dancing.
Plus the sets look really well done.

So I’m tempted to go, even though I don’t like Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins. I’ve liked her in other things, but she is just not doing it for me in that role.

Is Rob Petrie in the new one?

My gosh what does he do to stay so youthful?

He’s dancing on a desk at age 92 in the new one, playing the son of the grumpy old bank president from the original movie.

I never knew that he also played the grumpy old bank president in the original - the one who takes the tuppence which leads to a riot. So the part he’s playing in the new one is basically the same part only now he doesn’t need age makeup.

i did not watch the first one, but have read the book as a child 🙂

Bert and Mary had better not be dating.

They are fine as platonic just friends.

Ok, articles with Rob Petrie’s real name also get censored. That’s funny.

I tried posting an article about Rob’s wife who is 48 years old.

I despise Disney, and wish Disney World would vanish into nothingness. The place is a blight on Florida.

Thanks for sharing. I had a wonderful time seeing the Magic Kingdom with my mom and Epcot Center with my husband almost 30 years ago. Wonderful memories. I wasn’t interested in the movie park or any of the resorts (I was working in the area and living in a rundown Red Roof Inn so I could blow my per diem on Disney and the beach). It no doubt is creating many jobs and bringing money into the area.

I hope Mary Poppins Returns won’t force the homosexual agenda down the throats of moviegoers. I haven’t seen the movie for myself yet, but considering Disney’s recent track record when it comes to “family entertainment,” I’m worried.

Well, Deacon Greydanus at the National Catholic Register wrote a review of the film, and while he was not big on it (he admitted he wasn’t much of a fan of the 1964 original too), he did seem to apply that the only areas of concern were a sequence where a young boy gets in a run in with an animated menace, and a scene near the end which seems more appropriate to a thriller. Oh, and that he missed the use of a song like Feed the Birds which mentioned saints and apostles.

No mentions of anything homosexual related, and since he usually picks up on them very well (ie Frozen), I think its safe to say this film is free of that.

I saw a trailer today. It looks good, but I will wait until it comes out and there are
further reviews before I decide if I will see it or not.
