I have a “date” with my married daughter to head off to the 9:00 PM Friday night showing.

Are you planning on going? Waiting to see how others react?

If you’ve already seen it by the time you post, what did you think?

Yes, I am planning on seeing the movie. I have seen every one so far, and I have read all the books.

Sometimes, I do feel this is a sticky subject, because there are so many persons against the HP franchise.

Since there is no official word from the Vatican condemning (too strong a word?) HP, I guess it is okay to see the movie. I am a 25 yr. old woman who has been raised by a great, faithful Catholic mom; she taught me well, and I don’t think I will be practicing witchcraft anytime soon. 😉

However, if there ever was a statement from the Vatican advising us not to read or go to HP movies, then I would not go.

Interested in everyone else’s opinions…

Yup, I am also going and I am taking my 14y/o son. We both have read all the books and seen all the movies so far.

I will wait until it comes out on video. My daughter is too young still to see the movie or read the books, but I have read them all and enjoyed them. I have my own issue with sitting in a theatre and spending that much money on a ticket, but no issue with the HP franchise. Let me know how you all likes it!

Nope. I have no plans to see it and will probably not watch it when it comes to cable.

absolutely me and my darling mother in law will be going to see it on Saturday. I cant wait. I have read all the books at least twice and seen all the movies. Love em! and i cant wait!

My daughters and I will be going to see it.

I always enjoy the movies but not what happens afterward.

All the way home my older daughter will yack about what’s different in the book and how the movie should have been. For over an hour, I’ll hear what was left out and what was added. (After the first movie I endured a five minute diatribe about how Harry’s scar is in the wrong place.)

Hey, at least she’s good at comparing and contrasting.

Yep, I plan to go with my children. I also plan to take them to the Chronicles of Narnia. They are excited about seeing both.

Definitely! I’m going with my friend and her husband to tomorrow’s 10:30a.m. showing. I’ve seen all the movies (own the first 3 on DVD), and own all the books that are out. 👍

That is me. And why I don’t like the movies. They simply can’t do the plot justice. They have to cut way too much important stuff! After reading the last book though (6, where they are snaked around each other like eels making out around EVERY corner, and only take a break to go drinking strong alcohol), I can say I don’t think I’d WANT a child seeing that in a movie and will be happy if they cut out a majority of the book to focus on the last couple chapters, where the good stuff actually happens.

YES I am and I think they are so silly and fun…

I’ll probably take my children to see it. Need to read about it beforehand. If you go, it’ll give me time to take a nap. Every single Harry Potter movie so far has been as riveting as waiting for paint to dry.

I will be taking the family to the local theatre’s midnight showing tonight. I could not do otherwise, for my younger daughter has developed a healthy “crush” on the Harry Potter actor named Daniel Radcliffe, I believe. She has been eagerly waiting for the film, almost literally counting down the seconds, minutes, hours, and days until the film premiers!

I have also sat down with both daughters years ago, back when the first Harry Potter movie came out, and made it clear to them that Harry Potter was imaginary and not an endorsement of the occult (though I do know only too well that there is literal magick and occultic practices in reality, and that if taken the wrong way, Harry Potter could lead to such things). They have understood this completely, so the films are all right in my household.

Yes, indeed. The last one was cool.

And I have no children, plus I’m a dude, so what’s my excuse? 😃

That’s my wife in a nutshell, too. It’s actually one of the highlights for me coming home from the movie. I love to watch her seesaw back and forth between how much she enjoyed the movie and how upset she is that things were cut… 😃

I can’t wait. I will not let me 8 yr old see it though it is very dark. Old Volemort comes back in this one.
