I am always trying to be prepared for the second coming. Rapture sounds like a cool story, made a great story with the Left Behind series till I saw that they were Catholic bashing. I lived in the south and know quite a few born agains and penticostal ministers. To me I don’t care what happens during these times that I feel are right at hand and I feel we are going to see some serious biblical events. So I hope and pray that I will be ready at a moment’s notice. Sometimes like today I feel I am ready to go. I hope we do get to see our Saviour come and come soon. God Bless Scoob.

Three days of darkness may actually be spiritual, not physical.

Mystics don’t always communicate the visions they receive acurately and often they misunderstand them, because they are received through the filter of a falable mind.

At anyrate, if you pray as you should, God will provide he candles and holy water, but mostly, the spiritual batteries you’ll need to get through tough times.

In Christ
Jim

Here’s an interesting note. Sometimes, when you read accounts of volcanic eruptions, there’s generally a note about there being about three days of pitch black darkness due to the ash. (like at Krakatoa).

From Trial, Tribulation and Triumph:

“The Catholic Encyclopedia itself refers respectfully to those who have attained the rank of Venerable and Blessed, who have specifically foretold such an event. One obvious example of this is the writing of Blessed Anna Taigi. Another prophecy of this event was made by a Carmelite nun whom Pope John Paul II beatified in 1983 as Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified. Therefore the author begs the informed reader to reserve judgement of this issue until he or she sees the stature of the people approved by the Church, who have made such prophecy about the ‘three days of darkness.’” (Trail, Tribulation and Triumph, Birch, Desmond, p. 284).

The three days of darkness is a conditional prophecy. It could happen. It therefore depends on how humans respond to grace.

Prophecy is not conditional. It always occurs.
What, like ‘Russia will spread her errors UNLESS she is consecrated to my Immaculate Heart’ as Our Lady said in Fatima?

Sounds awfully conditional to me.

It was a what if condition and the alternative had to be said and tried for. God always knows what will happen and the prophecies reflect that.

Yes, with prayer, Mass and the Sacraments, I’ve read about this years ago, it has been mentioned in the diary of Saint Faustina.

Diary of Saint Faustina **83 ** “Before I come as a just judge, I am coming FIRST as “King of Mercy”! Let all men now approach the throne of my mercy with absolute confidence! **Some time before the the last days of final justice arrive, there will be given to mankind a great sign in the heavens of this sort: all the light of the heavens will be totally extinguished. There will be a great darkness over the whole earth. ** Then a great sign of the cross will appear in the sky. From the openings from where the hands and feet of the savior were nailed will come forth great lights - which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will happen before the very final days. It is the sign for the end of the world. After it will come the days of justice! Let souls have recourse to the fount of my mercy while there is still time! Woe to him who does not recognize the time of my visitation.”

Only in the context of public revelation as taught by the Magisterium can we situate the words of private revelation given to Sr. Faustina.

I’m skimming through the posts and would suggest a book called The Thunder of Justice, if it has never come up. Goes into details of various visionaries and talks of the three days of darkness. It will wake you up.

I recall hearing about this when I was a kid…we’re talking at least 40 years ago.

If you are going to be concerned about something that is “coming” but you don’t know when, your energies would be far more useful preparing for Jesus’ return…whether this means the actual end of time or your own death.

I just hope the second coming is going to be in our lifetime. I want to live to see him come. Of course be in the state of grace when he does return. I like the one saying a friend said to me one day, “I’d rather fly than die!!!” Of course don’t know about the rapture and all that mess, Just know he will return one day as he promises. Hopefully in our lifetime. Scoob.

Honestly guys, lighten up! You ever heard of a little-known fellow by the name of Nostradamus?

Predicted so many things - some of which appear to have come true, some of which (like the death of the King of France) apparently came true in his own lifetime. Apparently predicted the rise of Hitler and WWII.

Apparently, however, also predicted that Napoleon would WIN the battle of Waterloo (which of course he actually lost big-time). And wrote a whole lot of other stuff that seems to be just plain gibberish.

Just remember that Jesus said ‘NO-ONE knows the day or the hour, not even the Son’ - I hardly think the Father would be telling anyone else all his secrets which he’s kept from Jesus himself, do you?
That’s very true Lily, NO-ONE knows WHEN, only the Father. What I do think is true is that some day it will come. The three days, I believe is scriptural in the book of revelation. The saints have spoken of it and so has Our Blessed Mother. When it will come, only the Father knows. Could be a thousand years from now. The Blessed Mother has said that more prayer is needed, as we CAN lessen the severity through prayer and sacrifice. We need to pray for Her Son’s Church and the clergy. We need to pray for conversion of hearts. Every revelation I have ever heard or read about from her echoes the same theme…Pray, pray, pray.
In other words “Get your act together, people!”

I have my hands full just trying to keep my soul ready at all times, don’t really have time to worry about when this will happen!😃 Leaving that up to God.😉

BTW, I do have a few blessed candles and a tiny bottle of holy water from Lourdes. Would have to really stretch the holy water for the doors, walls and windows of my house, but when the time comes if I am not yet in heaven already, I will let God provide for that too.😃

We all know that only the Father knows, We all know that he could return in a million years from now. I don’t think of that stuff all the time or even much at all. When I see a thread like this one then I think for a moment that, gee , wouldn’t it be nice to be in the state of grace as well as my family and friends and then boom here he comes.no painfull bitterness of losing loveones if we out live them. I don’t plan on it everyday or as a way out. I think most of us on this forum know all the pitfalls of focusing on the second comming and all the stuff that goes with that subject. To me it is a cool subject to talk about for greens. If we are in the state of grace don’t matter when he comes. just would be nice in our lifetime that’s all but doesn’t really matter in the end. Scoob.
