Well, I’v seen this arguement many times but i still want to get it straight. I’v heard many times that it is a sin to waste seed, and that it should only be used with a loved one. But what about a women?..They yet have no seeds to waste, Or young children who havent hit that age yet?..Iv always heard it could be a grave sin…How bad could it be for someone knowlingly not wasting seed, And stopping all toghther when they know they could cause such a sin… Do you believe this is a grave sin?..And if so…Why?

Hrmm I see…Does that mean i must have this post deleted?..Because I would still like peoples opinions and that post is closed.

Everyone gets the urge, most surely.

If sex is accepted (and it is not even accepted sometimes, but of course it is understandable for the youth), why not masturbation?

Sex reproduces.

Most people would say masturbation is definetly a sin. If you are that religious, I guess it does matter.

Good point…and even for the youth or possibly women who cant waste seed…Why Not? Would god dislike it THAT much? A grave sin?

“or even women”

Hm, of course women would have some of the same urges and men do, although I believe they’re a bit more reserved about it. But you including “or even woman” is a bit…hem.

Yea, i know what you mean…But do you think if being tempted and doing so a man should have a great burden on his shoulders?..This why i want to know, because i dont want to go to hell if its a gravely sin…

/Everyone/ get’s tempted. And those who do not want to confess…well, either you’re lying or are just that…I suppose…religious.

I have never, but then again, I’m just a youth. (: For those who have never masturbated, there are always so many who have been sexually aroused.

I’ve never been good with topics like these. :

Do whatever you want.

“Facts not votes determine the truth.”

CCC 2352

"By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."138 “The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose.” For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."139

To form an equitable judgment about the subjects’ moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety, or other psychological or social factors that can lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability."

It is a sin against God because it is contrary to His purpose for us and it is a sin against others because it closes us off to others and the action usually has someone as its object.

MANY people struggle with this sin, here is a site that might help if you know of any who share this struggle:

Masturbation is more than just “wasting seed.” It’s the seeking of sexual pleasure— that’s ordered to the love-giving, life-giving conjugal act between married spouses— outside of the conjugal act. It’s using sexuality for oneself when it’s meant for self-giving. It’s fundamentally selfish.

And this selfish abuse leaves deep wounds because sexuality is deeply rooted in what we are. Because masturbation leaves such deep wounds it’s no surprise why it’s grave. God made us with sexuality for self-giving. Abusing sexuality, like in masturbation, is to make ourselves into black holes. We push God out of the picture and make ourselves the center of gravity.

Too bad I’m not religious and don’t live by so many rules.

Rules can be confusing.

Do whatever you want.
That is incredibly horrible advice.

And if you’re not religious, why do you pretend to be an expert on moral matters on a religious site?

Here’s the church’s answer:

check out this site, it should be able to help answer your questions.

I’m not pretending to be an expert on anything. If I said that I am not religious, why would I try to be an expert of something I don’t rely on?

You compromise the purpose of these forums by giving advice that is contrary to Catholic Church teachings. Your advice could lead others to sin. It’s a good way to not be able to post here anymore. Moderators play close attention to these threads. Instead of giving instructions, perhaps you should be asking questions and seeking explanations if your opinions and church teachings are incongruous.

I’ve already been researching.

I’ve already been a Christian.

I chose the stableness I’m in now because I don’t have true faith in anything else.

Is it right to say you’re Christian without believing?

omg its JO, maybe you should change the religion description in your profile, so others won’t mistake you as a Catholic.

Actually, rules make life refreshingly simple! This is why I submit to the Catholic Church and all Her Teachings, becasue Christ started it, and I have chosen to submit to Him.

Pride is the only thing that really made my life hard.
Once I submitted my will to Jesus’s will, and gave up the notion that the universe revolved around me and I actully could control others, life became much simplier and easier to understand.
