I’ll make this brief. But I was sitting in my room doing my homework, and some huge argument ensued between my father and my aunt (the aunt who I have mentioned in my previous posts who causes a lot of turmoil).

Please pray for whatever it is that is going on. I have no place to go really when something like this happens; I have finals coming up, a presentation and two case briefs due tomorrow, not to mention the fact that I have been extremely ill with intestinal issues for the past five months. I truly think I am reaching my breaking point. I cannot take anymore of the arguing, shouting, nausea, chills, stomach pain, and dizziness that seems to happen daily. I wish I could go to some peaceful place where I could be alone and completely relax.

Sometimes I pray that the Lord will take me to be with Him.

Does your college Newman Center have a study lounge? There are often suitable places to hang out on campus.

If your parents object, you can tell them that you want to stay out until the arguing is over, and once the arguing is done, you will be happy to come home.

Is your health to bad to move out? (Say after this semester.) Or are you still a minor.

Even taking a year off college is worth it, if that is what it takes to find a place to live were you can change the environment you live in. Sorry if I am suggesting something you can’t do, but if you are 18 or older perhaps all this turmoil is a sign that it is time to get out on your own. Even if you need assistance.

what about to your local parish or adoration chapel. it would be quiet there. i know you have work to do but you probably cna’t get any of it done when they’re fighting anyways. i sympathize, i’ve been in the situation before. praying for you and god bless

If you’re in college, can you go to a lounge there? Student Union building, library? Chapel?

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. :gopray:

I will definitely pray for you in this situation. God Bless

I’m praying for you, too. I don’t see any easy solution… wish I did…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

I am so sorry you have to put up with arguments while you are not well and have studies to do.

Do you have some headphones that you can use, if you are unable to leave the house? Listening to relaxing music, or music that uplifts you and can drown out any distracting noise may help.

Even tell them that their arguing makes you feel uneasy and is affecting your health and ability to study. You don’t need to say it in an angry way, just be calm but firm about it.

I pray that things will improve for you and that the arguments will come to a peaceful end. All the best with your studies too!

I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and support. Things seem to have died down since yesterday’s argument, thankfully. But regarding my health, it turns out that I have a stomach ulcer and I have been put on antibiotics for the time being. Now I just need to get over this depression…

God bless

Sorry to hear you have an ulcer. I have been there and know how miserable they can be.

Sometimes physical illness, due to pain and just that it stops you from doing the things you like, brings on depression. You might try a short walk everyday, just for the fresh air. It also helps alleviate depression because of the increase in endorphines. Of course you should discuss with your doctor.

I hope you can overcome your family troubles as well. Oddly enough, in some cases, the best thing a person can do is leave the family and live on their own, or even in another State. I am not saying this is your answer, but it is something to keep in mind. Sometimes God does call us to leave our families for His work, and sometimes it is just the only way we can become a spiritually, mentally and physically healthier person.
