What are some good arguments for the Christian religion? My main ones have been The Historisty of the resurrection and other miracles, what else is there?

The POE isnt a logical proof aganist God, your using ethos to push your beliefs

These parents will grieve for eternity! Either God can do nothing for these children or doesn’t care to. And most of these children will be going to hell.
This is not what the Church teaches. Please read some church literature and documents before attempting to continue denying God on this forum. You are displaying great lack of knowledge about the Catholic faith.
So, our universe is being run by an invisible monster. How do you rationalize the slaughter of innocent children? How do you rationalize murders, mental illness, Cancer, tsunamis, child molesters and hurricanes?
Are you looking for a reason for suffering and death. You do sound angry with God, your creator
Go to Smithsonian Natural History Museum. There are over 19 different hominin species. We absolutely did evolve.
Again you are displaying lack of knowledge over the Catholic Church and its understanding on creation and evolution.
M Theory.
M theory is pretty much superseded and has been for a few decades. Its a tiny island on that old string theory, itself a little awkwardly outdated

Your riddled with igorance, like “evoultion is real so no God"or " who created God”. Pick up a book

The bible is forged.
So now you have made this claim, it is on you to back it up and prove it.
Who do you claim wrote the Gospels, what do you claim is forged, Which books of the Bible exactly are you claiming are forged.

Your comment shows how much of an intellctual stain new atheism is
No kidding…

My arguments for Christianity are primarily
  1. Scripture
  2. The examples of dozens of saints
  3. My own God given gift of faith and what I feel in my heart.
I like the “historicity of Jesus” evidence too, but it’s kind of secondary because while you can prove that Jesus did exist, had a cult and was crucified, you can’t prove historically that he is the Son of God.

For them to make statements essentially trashing religion in a thread called “Arguments for Christianity” is a derailing of the thread topic (the OP had not asked for arguments AGAINST religion, and this is not a thread about atheism, the Harvard Divinity Project, or even in Non-Christian Religions forum) and shows disrespect for others’ beliefs.

In addition, the OP has a pattern of posting similar off-topic responses denigrating religion in a wide variety of topics. This is a common behavior for some posters who are either anti-Catholic or anti-religion in general, and it signifies agenda posting, which also violates TOS.

The user has also just copy-pasted the same posts into multiple topics, which is spam.

And they were also posting as the user, Unitarian. Pretty easy to pick out with the above mentioned copy/paste posts.

It seems your arguments are primarily with Prostestant Fundamentalists. As a Protestant myself, I can assure you that the Catholic Church is far beyond such primitive ideas.

Articles of faith are out, IMO.
Yet no other religion can claim this: the founder killed, the inner circle killed, many followers killed and persecuted for 300 years, and yet the religion survived and thrived and went on to have presence in most countries of the world.
Also, this claim: that God himself entered human history (though that is an article of faith).

Jesus either was who he said he was, or he wasn’t.

The evidence points to that Jesus was legit. Therefore, Christianity is true.

In addition to the historicity of the resurrection and other miracles, I like the following arguments for Christianity as well:
  1. Jesus shares the logical means to obtain the greatest life after death experience for all.
  2. The Catholic Creed & Doctrines share the logical means to fulfill the greatest creation of the Creator of everything.

How do we respond to the fact that the traditions of the apostles’ deaths had there source from church traditions only and not from any written record outside of Christianity?

The greatest argument for Christianity is the culture it produced: western civilisation. The Church built Western Civilisation and everything that goes along with it including: hospitals, universities, music, art, science etc. The Catholic Church produced European civilisation, the greatest culture ever. The whole world has been Europeanised. All of this started with Christianity.

And before anybody objects, I’ll openly admit that I’m a western chauvinist. I love western civilisation and everything that it stood for.
