Aron “Nog” Eisenberg has died. September 21, 2019. He was 50 years old.

If the Pevensies can go to Narnian Heaven, where their heart is …

And if it is logical that wherever the humanoid Voyager goes when they die, the SilverBlood Voyager is going there too …

Then it is the highest logic and purest heart of Trek that Lieutenant Nog of the Ferengi will see Jake Sisko again.

For you see, in Hew-mon Heaven, that which we use as currency is merely infrastructure. The real currency there is relationships: relationship with God, and with each other.

So may be it that in Hew-mon Heaven, where the streets are paved with gold, look there, over the railing and the balcony made of gold-pressed latinum, where two young men linger laughing and talking, and watching the joyful throngs pass through a great pearl gate into that beautiful city. The kid did all right. Rest in peace.

I guess Nog, if he had his profit and loss statement ready, met with the Blessed Exchequer and the celestial auctioneers to bid for his new life. That’s if he got to the Divine Treasury. If he went the other way, he’s in the Vault of Eternal Destitution. I guess which way he went depends on whether he followed the 285 Rules of Acquisition and died in the state of profit.

You definitely know your Star Trek.
I must admit that of all the Star Trek TV programs, Star Trek DS9 was my least favorite. I was not really into Ferengies, the Deep Space 9 station, the worm hole, etc.
But I am sorry to hear that any part of the Star Trek Nation has died.
God bless Aron Eisenberg.

Ahem … hover or click to see spoiler …
The article reminds us that Nog’s dad Rom became the new Grand Nagus. And you know he will empty Ferengi Hell. He might even abolish it cf. Catholics used to have Baby Hell and now you don’t.

And as we saw with the Pevensies in Narnian Heaven, our real, all-encompassing, universe-crossing God Most High can be gloriously generous. I doubt Nog even knew any other Ferengi kids; he grew up on the space station. That’s why I’m predicting Nog will go to DS9 heaven since that’s where all his friends are.

But yes, Mr. Eisenberg was awfully young.

In your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil
and bid them eternal rest.

The old order has passed away:
welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.

Amen.

May The Lord forgive him his sins and bring him to life everlasting.

Amen.

Here’s a tribute to Aron’s character “Nog” and his contribution to the “Deep Space Nine” series. Apparently it was compiled only a few days before he died.

“Nog was a character that any actor could be proud of: one of the most complex characters in all of Star Trek, maybe even one of the best characters on TV in that day.”
