Artificial Contraception always sinful?

From what I understand, artificial family planning (artificial contraception) is wrong because it makes it more difficult to maintain healhy attitudes toward the spouse.

Is this true? If so my next questions would be:

Is it Artificial Family Planning itself that is sinful or the unhealthy attitudes that are likely to surface that are sinful?

If a person is able to maintain healthy attitudes while using Artificial Family Planning, is it still a sin?
 
Contraception is wrong because it violates the natural law. It is always a grave sin.
