As a Catholic would it be wrong to work for a company like Campus Crusades for Christ?

I am considering applying to a job at Campus Crusades for Christ, but I am thrown off by some of their statements in their job application that I would have to sign off on. For example:

The salvation of man is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight.

OR

It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written Word.

Is this anti-Catholic teachings?

Thank you for any advice!

Campus Crusade “Cru” is a Protestant organization, with deficient theology from a Catholic point of view. A Catholic should not work for them.

These teachings are contrary to the Catholic faith. You could not sign off on these beliefs without denying your faith. You would be in the place of Saint Peter, who said he didn’t know Christ after Christ was arrested.
You should not work to promote a Protestant Church unless perhaps doing this it is harmless, such as, perhaps, letting the Salvation Army collect money for charity in front of your store.

I would not say those statements are anti-catholic, but I would say they are definitely non-Catholic. You as a catholic could not sign anything saying you hold those statements to be true.

And though the statements may not be anti-Catholic, you may find people involved with them who are. Like Paul said, it would not be appropriate to work for them even if you didn’t have to agree with the statements listed.

I would instead look for opportunities with a group called FOCUS.

Yes, it is an organization with anti-Catholic leanings, and no you should not apply to work for them.

🙂 Amen.

Yup, true. The “cru” thing. The Church has apologised for the actions of early Xtians, in terms of the crusade killings (6th Century, right?).

Thank you all for your responses. They are very helpful. As I was reading the application page that requires a signature at the end after several statements that I would have to agree to something just didn’t sit right. You helped confirm what I was thinking. I will check out FOCUS as well. Thank you again! 🙂
