Greetings…I was exposed to loose asbestos dust (amongst other unhealthy construction particiulates) in my home due to to my coop neighbor’s unpermitted construction last year and what I believe is an unethical Coop Management Office. The City later issued violations for the work. Anyway, the asbestos is all gone (I paid thousands to clean) and I’m hopeful that I will be OK by the grace of God…🙏🙏🙏🙏 I’m a cancer survivor so this whole experience caused a huge deal of worry and also caused me to uproot from my home.

I would like to save the positive test results if, God forbid, I ever were to get an asbestos related illness. I do admit…i have some anger toward my coop manager for lying to me about the presence of asbestos in my building (public City records for my building prove otherwise) and about my neighbor not needing a permit when they actually did. I have no plans to sue now- only if I were to get Mesothelioma God forbid…I’m not a litigious person but I would want to see justice served if that ever were to happen…would that be contrary to the Gospel? I pray I’ll never have to file one! 🙏🙏🙏

God is a God of justice, too. If you have been wronged by someone, it is your right to seek restitution from them as determined by lawful authorities.

As long as you’re being honest, and not lying or faking an illness, there is nothing un-Christian about a lawsuit. In USA it’s the main way people get large institutions, including the Church, to change their behavior. Hit 'em in the pocketbook tends to get their attention.

I seem to recall a whole bunch of saints were lawyers and they weren’t all academics. Some of them were out there defending the rights of this group or that.

No, asbestos lawsuits are not un-Christian unless justice is un-Christian.

Heck I’d file a lawsuit to recoup the money I had to spend for specialized cleaning!
