Incense is part of the funeral rubrics.
Your priest knows what he his doing, so not sure why you need to ask here.
Why wouldn’t it be allowed?

No I Thuaught that it is used on major liturgical events such as frunral and Ash Wednesday and Christmas mass and the Saturday after Ash Wednesday
