I just have to share this. Last night my wife and I were looking over a book on the Saints with our two oldest sons (8 and 6). The discussion came around to how we belong to the Church militant and what the means and I asked if they knew what the other parts of the Church are. Next we discussed the Church triumphant. Then I asked my 6 year old if he knew where the people who are part of the Church suffering are. His reply, “I don’t know, at Mass?”

Needless to say my wife and I had a good laugh. He wasn’t trying to be funny and couldn’t understand what we found so humorous.

God Bless,
Michael

Thank you for a laugh today. My four year old always asks if it is going to be a long Mass or a short Mass. I always thought it funny that the response to “The Mass has ended” is “Thanks be to God.”

That’s funny… it make me think of the time my 5 year old daughter told me that she didn’t like going to church because it cut into her tv and play time.
🤷

if he had been a little bit older he might have said,“in CCD?”

My 8 year old, when she was 3, said, “The Church is suffering because Mother Mary ran out of bandaids”.

These are cute. When I was little (I’m Presbyterian) as we were leaving the service my pastor stooped down and asked me how I liked Sunday school. Apparently, I threw my hands up and exclaimed, “It’s so boring! All they talk about is Jesus Jesus Jesus!”

Yeah my mom said she was so embarrassed but my pastor just laughed.
