Are there any converts (or reverts) out there that struggled with whether or not they made the right decision to become Catholic (or rejoin the Church). I and my mother-in-law are both reverts to the faith. She and I both struggled with this difficulty. We both prayed for a sign (at different times) asking God to show us a sign indicating that the RCC was the church started by Christ. We both received powerful signs. My mother-in-law is currently struggling with her decision to have come back (her husband did not follow her and this upsets her to be apart from him in this way). She received a sign this week which helped her tremendously. I thought that if there were any of you who have been in this situation, and prayed for a sign (and received an answer) could post your experience here. Maybe this too could help her feel she made the right decision. KGM

My sign to come back was Christ himself. He filled me with his very being, as a great light.

That was 30 years ago, I never looked back outside the Church.

"In gratitude, I present to you this offering of cookies and milk. If you want me to eat them for you, please give me no sign. (pause) Thy will be done "

Homer Simpson.🙂

(sorry, am not trying to be disrespectful – i was just reminded of this quote.)

I was led back to the church by signs that I did not ask for so I consider myself very lucky. And being back in the church just feels right – not in any emotional way, but sort of at an instinctual level if you get what I mean.

For me, with regard to particularly the Catholic church, I always hearkened back to Paul’s warning to “let there be no divisions among you” (among others of this type) and I felt that even though the catholic church has some members that are not perfect (on the human scale), it was the church started by Christ and the apostles with St. Peter and while there have been some problems over the last 2000 years and with its current count of 1 billion members (with that much time and that many people, the odds are you are going to have issues crop up.) I still felt like if we all went our own way and started our own churches we are weakening and dividing the flock and just picking and choosing a custom religion. The idea for me was not to break off but to repair where necessary.

This is illustrated right within your family: the fact that there are two churches causing a division in your family is a microcosm of how there are many churches dividing the Christian “world family”

Sorry if this does not help.
