So quick question to the ladies: how would a guy politely ask his girlfriend to let her hair grow out long without being rude? I know that relationships are not about looks and stuff, it’s about her as a person. It’s just that I’d like it if she did let her hair grow long.
Blessings my Catholic friends! 😁

“You have really beautiful hair. I’d love to see it long. I bet it would be so pretty. Have you ever thought about letting it grow out?”

But if she decides she doesn’t want to grow it out for whatever reason, it’s her hair and her decision.

Have you ever seen her with long hair, either face to face or in a photograph? If you haven’t, maybe you should bear in mind the possibility that short hair suits her better.

Yes.

My mother in law told me years ago that my husband liked long hair. 🤔:woman_shrugging:t2:I tried to get it long, it never looked right, I have coarse hair that gets frizzy.

I keep it short, something like my avatar picture. Husband likes it.

I think there is software which allows you to take a look at what you look like in any hairstyle.

I used to have long hair but it’s so thick and frizzy that I resemble a dandelion during the white fuzz stage.

No my hair is medium length.

Long hair is a lot of work. Most women, but the time they are adults, have tried every sort of style and they know what works for them.

I actually found that my hair was more manageable when long than when bobbed because long hair can be pulled back or put up. Bobbed hair was in my face all day because it was too short to reliably stay in a pony or bun. I am leaving my hair long for now (I actually haven’t had time or motivation to visit a hair salon in about 4 years) and just let it do what it does. If I ever get in a situation where it becomes too annoying or falls out, I will just buzz it. Maybe tattoo my head.

I buzzed my back and sides (think a faux hawk like “Pink” or Kelly Osborne) a few years back and it is soooooooo great! I can literally do nothing to my hair if I don’t feel like it, just brush it back wet and let it dry.

When I want to get fancy, I can blow it out with a round brush, use a flat iron or even curl it on top!!

I have considered doing that. I was one of the only punks back in the day who had “hippie hair” all through the buzz era and never cut it. The reason was that my hair was thick and curly (think Shirley Temple) and when I got older my mother used to take me to her hairdressers, who would always give me a short cut because they gave those to all the middle-aged ladies they styled. Until I was about 15 I was under the impression that my hair wouldn’t grow out. I decided around that age to just see if it would grow and went to school in a weird little topknot for a few months (which got me plenty of laughs) but at the end of that time I had fabulous masses of long thick curly hair, and guys liked it, so I just kept it. One of the local punk elder statesmen nicknamed me “Gracie Slick” because of the hair and because I would occasionally wear a hippie dress from Goodwill.

Having a lot of hair also makes it an easy switch back and forth from punk to metal to hippie when I need to do that.

Fellow “thick tons of hair” gal.

I like the half shaved because it finally gives me a “normal” amount of hair to work with!!!

In the day, I have had it so long I could sit on it. That was a real job to dry, because with my texture I HAD to blow it out or it would stay wet for way too long.

Had my share of bad perms to try to get your look!!!

Mine never got to sit-on-it length, it would break off first. The longest piece in the back gets to my waist if I yank it straight. About 24 inches. It curls up so it looks much shorter. If I don’t do anything with my hair for a few days it pretty much looks like Robert Smith. Which is hilarious because I used to put about 2 cans of Aqua Net on it and tease it up TRYING to make it look like Robert Smith and didn’t realize the secret was just don’t do anything with your hair for 3 days.

I have to shave about 2/3 of my hair off to equal the amount of hair average people have.

I keep the top layers but shave the bottom layers off.

I think it’s ok to ask her, but do it in a polite way - don’t give her the feeling that you don’t think she’s attractive now. If she’d rather not grow it, let it go.

Yours is pretty much the only reply that is actually advice. Lol.
I certainly wouldn’t want to hurt anybodies feelings.
