I usually pray asking a few saints to intercede for me. Among them, Augustine, Pio, Francis, Saint John Paul (!) and others. But I cant help feeling as it would be ‘smarter’ to ask all the saints to pray for my intentions. I dont do it for a couple reasons (more personal connection to those and a weird sense that Im ‘abusing the system’ and the prayer losing focus if I do) but was wondering if there are other reasons/benefits for choosing specific saints rather than making a general request.
Thx!

I might have misunderstood you, and if I did, I apologize. It seems to me you’re basically stating the same thing. If I pray and at the end ask certain saints, and all other saints and angels including St. Michael and my Holy Guardian Angel to pray for me (as I do), I’m basically doing the same thing as asking them to pray for my intentions. However, I’m asking them to pray for me, not my intentions, knowing that they know what I mean.

Did I totally miss the boat on that one??? 🤷

And about picking saints, some have, through their intercession, brought miracles to bear in my life, and a couple are ones I truly admire, like St. Therese, the Little Flower, and St. John Paul.

Thanks for replying and I apologize for the confusion. I will try try to rephrase it.
What I meant is why focus on specific saints when we can ask all of them. Wouldn´t the latter be better? But never thought of doing what you say, asking certain ones and including ¨the rest of them¨. That makes sense.

I know is a silly question but i have no scruples when it comes to deepen my understanding of the faith :o:D
