Asperger's Syndrome and The Priesthood

I am considered to be mild…I have Asperger’s Syndrome. Intense interests, certain obessions, real good communication etc.

Am I eligible in The Church’s eyes to be a priest? Or does it stop me?

There is no universal prohibition against men with asperger’s syndrome becoming priests. Talk to your vocations director.

I think it would depend less on the condition and more on the severity of the disorder. If it prevents you from socializing with people, then I would suspect a hindrance, but, as the poster before me recommended, it would be best to talk to your diocesan vocations director. Best wishes!
