Hi all. I wasn’t real sure where to post this so I figured here would be best. I attended a morning meeting with a priest at Washington DC Basilica of the Immaculate Heart. I am an aspiring catholic and will soon enter RCIA.

I am very serious about entering the catholic faith and would love to have a phone pal per se to “walk” with. We could possibly say the rosary, read scripture, share testimonies, etc., doesn’t matter. Encouragement is always helpful in a world this chaotic.

p.s. Gender doesn’t matter. I’m not “scoping out” church girls here.
 
CAF doesn’t allow phone pals, but you might want to check out The Coming Home Network which offeres one-on-one contact with their members who will do all the things you mentioned with you. I highly encourage you to look into their organization. If you watch EWTN they are part of The Journey Home program with Marcus Grodi. 🙂
 
I just wanted to add (please forgive my lack of social skills 😊) Welcome home to the Church and God bless your journey of faith. 👍 😃
 
I went through RCIA last year and was baptized/confirmed this past Easter 2015. I hope you enjoy the process- I felt it was incredibly worthwhile!

I will say you likely will make good solid friends with people in your RCIA group, and hopefully you have a good sponsor that will pray the rosary with you, etc.

CAF does not encourage friendship between members. This seems to be more of an information forum of sorts.

Yes the world is becoming quite chaotic and confusing to say the least.

Even though we don’t do phone calls here,… stick around! You should be able to pick up some good information here!
 
Chuck welcome welcome and God bless you! When you start RCIA there will be ample opportunities to meet and greet people, attend faith groups, bible studies, service opportunities, retreats and praying with people. I would also recommend attending morning mass… Jesus will call you to come join in at the Supper of the Lamb…

That’s what Catholics are good at…Praying as one big Family! Really you’ll begin to feel that you are part of something bigger than yourself…You belong to a family! :gopray2:
 
Praise God that you are looking at the fullness of the faith! I am a convert and after much prayer and study came to find the beauty and depth of the Catholic Church where I belong! To this dayI am so very greatful to our Lord for guiding me here. But as a convert I am very aware of your strong need for fellowship. Coming into the Catholic Church for me wasn’t about people as much as Truth. Catholic aren’t as use to this close fellowship as are many
evangelical Christians are…don’t let this disuade you…God has MANY “onfire” Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ and you are coming in to bring this as well. Watch EWTN, listen to Catholic radio (EWTN related channels…there are some “bad” Catholic channels so beware of those) So very many of us converts here! Praise God! I will PM you when and if able ( I care for elderly mother and grandchildren which saps most of my time). Blessings to you on this important journey of faith.
