Enoch because he “walked with God” - Genesis 5:24, and Elijah for his “great zeal for the Law.” - 1 Maccabees 2:58. The Bible is very vauge on these two matters. Why were Enoch and Elijah assumed into heaven a la Mary the mother of god?

As GEddie said, it is not Church doctrine that they were assumed a la Mary. He mentioned an alternative theory – I will just say that I’ve never heard the time warp theory. I’ve only heard two theories: one theory is that they were assumed a la Mary (that’s the theory I believe), and another is that they died during their upward journey. (Elijah because the chariot he rode on was on fire, not sure why for Enoch.) I think we as Catholics are allowed to believe in several theories about what happened to those guys as long as we hold to what Scripture says, because that’s the core. Enoch was taken to heaven; Elijah went up to heaven in a chariot of fire. Whether to call that an Assumption a la Mary is up to you, but yeah, that’s what I do.Why were Enoch and Elijah assumed into heaven a la Mary the mother of god?
