Attend two parishes; where do I contribute?

I am a registered parishioner of the church whose geographical boundaries I live in. However, my wife and children prefer to attend Mass at another parish in a different city (our town has only one parish). To keep peace within the family, I often agree to this.

My question pertains to the financial support of the church, which of course is one of the Precepts of the Church. Should all my contributions be given to the parish where we are registered, or should I bring a fixed amount each week and drop it in the collection basket at whatever church we attend that Sunday?

Thank you.

Dear friend,

The current code of canon law does not oblige you to be registered in the parish in whose boundaries you live. I suggest that you register only in the parish where you are active and then support that parish. You should not be vacillating between two parishes.
