Attending a potentially unfaithful RCIA class tomorrow

Because my parents aren’t Catholic, and I do not yet have a liscence, I often hitch a ride to mass with a parishioner and then have my parents pick me up and drive me home. However, because tomorrow’s weather doesn’t look good, my mother is reluctant to pick me up, and the parishioner whose driving me assists at RCIA, and cannot drive me back until after RCIA is finished, so I have to stay with her at RCIA.

When I attended this RCIA class, there was a whole host of errors taught there, I reported this to the priest so there may be a potential for change, but I’m still worried. The last thing I want to happen, is for me to condone any errors there, so I want prayers that I have the wisdom to be silent when I need to be silent, and the courage to speak the truth in love, when I need to speak.

It is commendable that you do not want to participate in any errors, but it is not you responsibility to monitor what happens in RCIA, even if you are sitting in the class.

Can you use the time for quiet contemplation after Mass? Can you bring a sack lunch to eat while you wait for RCIA to finish? Can you bring some homework?

Please pray for me! My mom says she won’t able to give me a ride back tomorrow, and thus, there is a chance I may have to attend a class tomorrow.

I’m struggling a lot with anger towards these types of people, right now.

Perhaps, in that case, it is the will of God that you find yourself in their company!

“19My beloved brothers, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20for man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires. 21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and humbly receive the word planted in you, which can save your souls …” James 1

The anger of human beings does not accomplish the righteousness of God. If you are harboring “a lot of anger toward these types” then it says a lot more about you, than it does them. “these types of people” may be reflective of prejudice on their part. Pray for them, individually, and severally.

How do you know that God has not placed you there to pray and intercede during the class?
