The Archdiocese of Reno is having a Jubilee Mass this Sunday for those married. We will be attending this Mass and celebrating our 52 years of marriage. Would this Mass fulfill the Sunday obligation?

Yes, it will.

I’m not sure, unless there’s something you’re not mentioning here, what would make you think otherwise…

The obligation to attend Mass on Sunday or a Holy Day of Obligation is fulfilled by attendance at Mass in any valid Catholic rite on the day of precept or the evening of the previous day. So you fulfill your obligation with that jubilee Mass, or with a Latin Mass (which uses a different calendar) or a wedding that happens on Saturday night, or a Byzantine Catholic Liturgy (which is a completely different liturgical tradition). The readings don’t matter, the feast celebrated doesn’t matter. Mass is Mass is Mass.

It’s a mass on Sunday. The obligation is to attend mass on Sunday. I don’t understand the question.

1ke, I believed one had to attend the Mass for the readings for that Sunday. I know the readings at the Jubilee Mass would be different and thought they would not fulfill the obligation.

The obligation is to assist at mass, not to hear any particular readings.

The readings of various eastern rites are often different for the same Sunday, ditto if someone attends Traditional Latin Mass.

Yes, any mass on Saturday evening (standard rule of thumb is 4 PM or later) or Sunday from 00:00 til 23:59 satisfies your Sunday obligation.
