We should attend Mass, but it doesn’t have to be the vigil. There is no reason to ask a secular business to change plans for New Year’s Eve since the HDO is Jan 1.Even if it may not be obligatory to attend the vigil Mass for you, I wish you would love to go to Holy Mass for the love of God rather than for fulfilling a certain responsibility. I wish that so many folks out there (even Christians) would not organise parties at the midnight time, when it is preferrable to enter the New Year in prayer especially Holy Mass. We can always plan the parties for other times… For me, tonight with God’s grace I will attend Holy Mass and not the party that they have organised in my workplace for the staff and our families. I have requested the management to change the time for the party for next year if possible, so that more people would attend the night prayers. We have so much at stake around the world and various nations, we need the most powerful protection as we enter the new year. I need God’s powerful protection, no less!
