I agree with you on that. However, you said that you must go to Mass first. That is not correct.

Perhaps because when I first asked a priest, he simply said, “Go to Mass first.” Actually the person I was with, also Catholic was the person who asked.
The instructions were simple and well understood. Mass does not replace a non-Catholic service. Attending Mass before attending any other services has multiple benefits, not the least being assuring that the Mass obligation has been met.

I know what you are saying but it is NOT a requirement that you must go to Mass first.

I think that you are getting bogged down on the word first. Replace it with the word still. Nothing replaces the sacredness or importance of the Mass in Catholic life.The OP asked about going to a non-Catholic service, which is allowed. Interdenominational communion is not allowed. The Sunday obligation to attend Mass is not revoked.
If you attend a non-Catholic Sunday service, you must still attend Mass.

I agree. It was you who raised the issue and said Mass had to be attended first. You could have simply said at the start you must still attend Mass.

I’m in a mixed denominational marriage and we try to attend each others services now and then. I am also part of a weekly prayer group at my husbands church. During my university years I along with several other Catholics was part of a wonderful Ecumenical community.

In a secular society I think Christians need each other and we don’t gain a lot from locking ourselves in the Catholic bunker.
