I’ve heard of “ordinary people” having an audience with the Pope, but how does that work? How does the Vatican decide who gets an audience?

If you had the opportunity to meet for a few moments with the Holy Father, what would you say? What would you ask?

Every Wednesday the Holy Father has a “General Audience”. Tickets (free) are available through a number of sources - I find the best is to contact your local diocese for assistance in obtaining them.

Needless to say, private audiences are a bit harder to come by - but again contacting your local diocese is the first step.

Knowing someone in the Vatican is always a nice way to get an audience too.😃

I don’t knwo if I could ask him something. I might just say Bless You Father.

Thanks for the information. I’ll definitely file it away for my first trip to Rome (whenever THAT may be). 🙂

I believe Fr once said that you have to have a letter from a Bishop to get a private audience. Although I don’t know if even that guarantees it, but you won’t even get consideration if you don’t have a Bishop referral.
