Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Why seek to “acquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin?” Why even ask this question – on a Catholic Forum? The answer is twofold: 1) Because by His Grace, Jesus’ words have sunk down, deep into my heart: “Behold your Mother” 2) It is hurtful to Jesus and Mary when so many seem not to care about her – blaspheming against her.

Sister Lucia of Fatima, asked Jesus; “Why 5 First Saturdays of Reparation fo Mary’s Immaculate Heart?”
Our Lord answered this question when He appeared to Sister Lucia in May 1930. He explained that there are five principle blasphemies and offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary which require reparation. These are:
  1. Blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception;
  2. Blasphemies against her Perpetual Virginity;
  3. Blasphemies against her Divine Maternity;
  4. Blasphemies by those who openly encourage indifference or even contempt in the hearts of children towards His Immaculate Mother, and
  5. The dishonoring of her images.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, we need to encourage one another to ask for and acquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin, given to us by Jesus and listen to God’s Word in Genesis 3:15:
I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.
In the book of Revelation, Chapter 12: 17 we hear:
…the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus.
St. Louis de Montfort wrote in his treatise on True Devotion:
  1. Whoever then wishes to advance along the road to holiness and be sure of encountering the true Christ, without fear of the illusions which afflict many devout people, should take up with valiant heart and willing spirit this devotion to Mary which perhaps he had not previously heard about. Even if it is new to him, let him enter upon this excellent way which I am now revealing to him. “I will show you a more excellent way.”
    It was opened up by Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom. He is our one and only Head, and we, His members, cannot go wrong in following Him. It is a smooth way made easy by the fullness of grace, the unction of the Holy Spirit. In our progress along this road, we do not weaken or turn back. It is a quick way and leads us to Jesus in a short time. It is a perfect way without mud or dust or any vileness of sin. Finally, it is a reliable way, for it is direct and sure, having no turnings to right or left but leading us straight to Jesus and to life eternal.
Let us then take this road and travel along it night and day until we arrive at the fullness of the age of Jesus Christ.
Please pray with and for all Mary’s offspring to understand and love her!
Prayers to be offered daily this week: Litany to the Holy Spirit, Ave Maris Stella, and at least 5 decades of the Rosary.
