St. Augustine is the patron Saint of the Fellowship of Catholic Ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lets ask St. Augustine to pray for the conversion and salvation of all Jehovah’s Witnesses and all former Jehovah’s Witnesses to deeper levels of love and devotion to our Lord.

I’m not trying to be disrepsectful, but are you kidding me?? I cannot believe there is a saint for ex JWs. How on earth did that come about? Did someone just randomly invent a saint? That’s kind of odd.

Saint Augustine was already a saint. It is not like they invent a saint, but do ask him to pray for certain needs. In this case they ask him to intercede for conversions. (that is my guess)
He converted to Catholicism.

This all goes back to the Christian belief in the Communion of Saints.

Hi Jaded:

St. Augustine belonged to a group known as the Manicheans after he had been raised in the Catholic Church. He then left the Manicheans and became Catholic once again.

Since there are many Catholics who have left the Church for the Jehovah’s Witnesses (some of whom are making there way back to the Catholic Church, the Church that Jesus founded.) Our apostolate which is designed to assist these individuals back into the Catholic Church thought it would be appropriate to ask St. Augustine to pray for us as we help our former Catholic friends back home to the Church and for the conversion of all people to the fullness of the faith.

We ask St. Augustine to pray for us since many in our apostolate can relate to what happened to St. Augustine as he left the Catholic Church and then came back into it.

Thanks for asking,
