Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Incarnate Son of God, of course understands Mary,! as St. Louis de Montfrot wrote in “True Devotion”:
  1. Whoever then wishes to advance along the road to holiness and be sure of encountering the true Christ, without fear of the illusions which afflict many devout people, should take up with valiant heart and willing spirit this devotion to Mary which perhaps he had not previously heard about. Even if it is new to him, let him enter upon this excellent way which I am now revealing to him. “I will show you a more excellent way.”
    It was opened up by Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom. He is our one and only Head, and we, His members, cannot go wrong in following Him. It is a smooth way made easy by the fullness of grace, the unction of the Holy Spirit. In our progress along this road, we do not weaken or turn back. It is a quick way and leads us to Jesus in a short time. It is a perfect way without mud or dust or any vileness of sin. Finally, it is a reliable way, for it is direct and sure, having no turnings to right or left but leading us straight to Jesus and to life eternal.**
And:
  1. The soul of Mary will be communicated to you to glorify the Lord. Her spirit will take the place of yours to rejoice in God, her Saviour, but only if you are faithful to the practices of this devotion. As St. Ambrose says, “May the soul of Mary be in each one of us to glorify the Lord! May the spirit of Mary be in each one of us to rejoice in God!” “When will that happy day come,” asks a saintly man of our own day whose life was completely wrapped up in Mary, “when God’s Mother is enthroned in men’s hearts as Queen, subjecting them to the dominion of her great and princely Son? When will souls breathe Mary as the body breathes air?” When that time comes wonderful things will happen on earth. The Holy Spirit, finding his dear Spouse present again in souls, will come down into them with great power. He will fill them with his gifts, especially wisdom, by which they will produce wonders of grace. My dear friend, when will that happy time come, that age of Mary, when many souls, chosen by Mary and given her by the most High God, will hide themselves completely in the depths of her soul, becoming living copies of her, loving and glorifying Jesus? That day will dawn only when the devotion I teach is understood and put into practice. Ut adveniat regnum tuum, adveniat regnum Mariae: "Lord, that your kingdom may come, may the reign of Mary come!"
How many have heard this? How many have listened to The Wisdom God gives to His Saints?

How many prefer to listen to the spirit of the world which opposes the Spirit of Christ? Let us pray for one another and for the Church that we may seek to aquire today an understanding of Mary – as Jesus told us:
“Behold your Mother”
Prayers to be offered daily: Litany to the Holy Spirit, Ave Maris Stella, and at least 5 decades of the Rosary.

A first ripple caused all the others

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

The mystery of the Blessed Virgin is the first repercussion of the mystery of the Incarnation. It is like a stone thrown into the water that causes multiple ripples: the first concentric circle is the Virgin Mary in relation to the Incarnation.

The consecutive circles are from the Church, and these will continue their outward movement until the end of time.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear hazcompat,

Thanks for posting the insight of Cardinal Charles Journet. It is always a blessing to receive your replies and/or a “heart” from you on these posts concerning True Devotion to Jesus Through Mary.

It has been rather surprising to me that on about three of the last few posts there have been no replies and no hearts. There have been at least some views so the posts are not completely in vain. 🙂 At any rate, by God’s Grace I hope to complete the 33 Day jJourney and renew my Total Consecration on the Feast of Mary’s Nativity, Sept. 8.

Hopefully there will be others also honoring Jesus through Mary.

I think that few listen for the Wisdom of God, so they cannot listen to Him. St. Paul received great insight into this mystery:
1Co 1:22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,
1Co 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,
1Co 1:24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1Co 1:26 For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth;
1Co 1:27 but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong,
1Co 1:28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
1Co 1:29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
And he continues:
1Co 2:6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.
1Co 2:7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glorification.
1Co 2:8 None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

1Co 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.
1Co 2:13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit.
1Co 2:14 The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
Ah but Mary! What wisdom in her quiet humility!
Lk 1:46 And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord,
Lk 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Lk 1:48 for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;
Lk 1:49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

Dear fide,

Thanks so much for your reply. You are quite right in writing this:
I think that few listen for the Wisdom of God, so they cannot listen to Him. St. Paul received great insight into this mystery…
I wondered if any persons missed the fact (as I did, the first time I read your words) that the two words I have now put into bold print, were simply in italics – and I did npt realize until reading a second time – how important those two words are.

Listening to God’s Word for the Wisdom I need has indeed become more important to me, and yet I often am still in too much of a hurry – for one reason or another – and so I do not always listen carefully enough and can “miss Him” as He speaks His Wisdom through His Saints.

Your quote from the Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians is so important for all of us. Especially in regard to these threads on the 33 Day preparation for Total Consecration of ourselves to Jesus through Mary (or renewing that Consecration) as St. Louis has written that our Total Consecration can be a perfect renewal of our Baptismal Promises. In our Baptism we were given a share in the Divine Life, receiving the Gifts of Supernatural Faith, Hope and Charity in potency, as babies (most of us) but also as adults called to grow in holiness.

St. Paul helps us to hear the difference bewteen the “natural” faith we can have as human persons and the Supernatural Faith we receive in being born again in Baptism.

You ended your reply with these beautiful words of yours and Mary’s own words recorded in Luke’s Gospel:

“Ah but Mary! What wisdom in her quiet humility!”
Lk 1:46 And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord,
Lk 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Lk 1:48 for He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;
Lk 1:49 for He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.
Again - thanks so much! 🙂
