Hey guys…quick question. Is there an Extraordinary Form Mass in Austin anywhere besides the Cathedral? I’m trying to find an earlier one.

Thanks, and God bless.

Pax et bonum,
Joseph

Not too sure about other Parishes but when we went to Austin we went to the 5:30pm Sunday Mass which is right after the 3:30pm EF. Very nice Cathedral… stayed after Mass and took some great pics.

Here is the their weekend Mass schedule. Here is their www.
WEEKEND MASSES:
Saturday: 5:30 p.m. Vigil Mass
Sunday:
8 a.m.
9:30 a.m.
12 p.m.
1:45 p.m. (Español)
3:30 p.m. (Extraordinary Form)

Here are a couple of snap shots… couple out of focus sorry.

Here’s a couple of websites that have listings of parishes that have the TLM mass:
ecclesiadei.org/masses.cfm#Texas

web2.airmail.net/~carlsch/MaterDei/churches.htm#texas

And also, I know it’s a little ways away (about 1 hour and 20 minutes) but you might like to check out an Anglican-use Catholic parish as well. There’s very few anglican-use parishes but half of them seem to be in Texas (I think there’s only around 7-10 parishes in America that celebrate the anglican-use so it might be something to check out). It looks like a really beautiful church and they have earlier mass times than the TLM at the Cathedral. I have never been to a TLM or Anglican-use mass (I’ve been to a western rite Orthodox liturgy though) but from what I hear, they are very very similar but the anglican-use primarily use English instead of Latin. It might be something that you’d like to check out. Anyways, here’s the parish website:
atonementonline.com/index.php
It was the closest one that I could find to Austin TX. There used to be one that was in Austin called St Margaret of Scotland Parish but it looks like they are now closed.
