Anybody read Thomas Cahill’s *Desire of the Everlasting Hills *? I enjoyed How the Irish Saved Civilization even though he wasn’t very kind to some of the early church fathers.
I have. Overall, it is a very good book. However, he makes it quite apparent that he doesn’t believe the same things we believe about Mary, the Blessed Mother. Especially the fact that Mary was a Virgin before, during, and after the birth of Jesus. Ditto for the Immaculate Conception and the sinlessness of Mary. I agree with your assessment of How the Irish saved Civilization however, very fascinating and a good read.
