Authority Caveats?

Good. Now, about the non-elect? Does God let them know?

God’s desire is that everyone saved.

God gives everyone enough grace to freely decide to reject the

grace of God or to co-operate with it.

Those who end up in hell, end up in hell for one reason and one reason

only, which is their vehement rejection of the grace of God.

God’s desire is to save them but they vehemently reject it.

God’s law is written in the heart of everyone, we have free will, up to us

what we do with it, we can use it or we can abuse it . – Rom.2:15.

It would seem there are some limits on authority. Has the Church ever addressed this issue?

Sometimes.

For example, Pope John Paul II said the Church does not have authority to admit women to Holy Orders (Bishop, priest, deacon).

The Council of Trent took away the authority of clergy to sell indulgences (a big abuse during the reformation times).

I’m sure there are more.
