A poster in another forum just reminded me that today kicks off this season’s Ember days. If you’re as busy as I am you may have forgotten, too so here’s a friendly reminder to anyone who commemorates these days with their family.
For anyone who’s never heard of this, here’s a good overview: fisheaters.com/emberdays.html and fisheaters.com/customstimeafterpentecost8.html
Does anyone have any parish or family traditions for Embertide? Since before we got married, my wife (then girlfriend/fiancee) would make special dinners and we’d read a little penitential reflection for the season.
