Has anybody else heard about the revelations of St.Bridget and the seven Our Father/seven Hail Mary prayers? I read that it has papal approval and is a way of avoiding purgatory, although you have to pray it every day for either 12 years or until death.

Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

I hadn’t heard of it until you mentioned it! It sure is a beautiful prayer.

The St Bridget prayers are approved to pray; the promises attached to them are not.

If you really want to avoid purgatory, I suggest you instead focus on having a good relationship with God, not on saying “magic prayers”. You might read the writings of St Therese of Lisieux or St Faustina on avoiding purgatory. Fr Paul O’Sullivan also wrote a book called "How to Avoid Purgatory " that is available free online at EWTN website.
