“It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel”

My brothers and sisters, try to avoid quarrel among each other, let’s all try to accomplish what Jesus predicted to his apostles in the Last Supper: “by the love you hold for each other people shall recognize you as my disciples” (paraphrase)

Therefore, my friends, evangelize others by showing them the appreciation you hold for each other, and perhaps one day you may end up evangelizing me :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

On behalf of everyone on these fora, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, whatever: NO! NEVER!

You clearly do not understand CAF. It is for pedantic arguments; personal accusations; and obvious insinuations - when the insinuator is called out on it, he says “Sorry if YOU took it the wrong way” (aka “Sorry you can’t read idiot”).

It is for piling on unnecessary and unhelpful answers after the question has been answered already. It is for posting answers that in no way relate to the question, or reveal that you do not have the resources to answer it.

It is for massive language barriers getting in the way of conversation. And people who can barely read English reporting comments because they thought they were offensive, because they could not understand them.

It is for modesty discussions that always lead to someone fetishizing conservative dress. And it is for accusing people of heresy because they think others are wrong about what economic programs will best help the poor out of poverty.

Most of all, it is for making Catholics look like a bunch of monomaniacal bitter scrupulous milquetoast pharisees.

I can’t let you turn what we have here into some kind of Evangelizing tool

Neither do I really. It is an exaggeration for comedic effect.

Maybe I should flag you for comedic effect 😉 😂 😂

It would be in keeping with the practices outlined above. The kinda thing that makes the internet so special.

I can understand the reverse psychology, but unfortunately there might be some truth in what you said among the posters here. If the OP feels there is, that’s mean there is. I think the poster above you said it really well - we acknowledge it but we are trying to improve ourselves.

God bless.

Well, there is some truth, obviously. Otherwise it would not be an exaggeration. It is something I legitimately worry about. Whether this site does more harm than good. We have to be aware of how high up in the Google search results this site comes when you Google “Catholic.”

“Oh, those are what Catholics are? No thanks.”

Or “Oh, that is a good answer to Catholic questions by reasonable people.”

I liked it, then flagged it, and now can’t decide whether to send a nasty pm or not.

Hehe. We love you too. Do you think cats sometimes feel remorse when they scratch a person? Lastly, I think peach ice cream is very good!

The idea that cats feel remorse is to say they can repent of sin, which is to say they need a cat savior to die for their sins, and they do not because Chronicles of Narnia is heresy and magick and democracy is heresy and you NEED JESUS! PLEASE, I do not hate you, I just think it is sad that you are EVIL!

And peach ice cream is fine IF you receive in the cone. I can think of nothing worse than reception in the bowl.

Away with this fellow, for he is a disturber of the peace!

You know, but seriously, there is actually a really good guide to religious disputes by one of the doctors of the church. Summarized here (original link did not work)
